(You may want to bookmark this page). Culinary Chef Tutor, $50 k, must have City/Guilds level 3, 8 years work exp, loves training, cuisine, the kitchen, and menus. Work hours 12 to 9 pm
It is preferred that a Certificate in Adult Teaching be had, but training will be provided.
Skills required
- recognised culinary background with wide experience in all aspects of food preparation/ production/ and service (preferably with internationalexperience.
- in depth knowledge of food – as a culinary product, its role in regional cuisine, as a production unit, and its nutritional value.
- In depth knowledge of commercial kitchen design – including aspects like workflow production, applicable legislation, requirements of meeting a brief.
- In depth knowledge of menu design, and application to meet requirements. Including aspects of : concepts, target markets, logistics., pricing.
- Being aware of contemporary global and local factors that influence our Food .
- Confidence in both a practical and theoretical situation.
A culinary arts chef/tutor needs to be enthusiastic about food, with exceptional communication skills which can demonstrate, inform, educate and arouse the passion/interest in student chefs who in turn will promote on-going professionalism in the hospitality industry.
This is a 40 hour week position.
